Areas for improvement. Yes No. Indeed Featured review The most useful review selected by Indeed. You are scrutinized for everything little thing you say or don't say on a call.

Always looking over your shoulder, and always telling you you need to do better. They 'dangle a carrot' in front of you the whole time. Meaning always telling you things like there's advancement in the company and perks and stuff but rarely anyone ever sees it. Pros Benefits, longer lunch breaks. Cons A little Condescending and.

Worked as a Customer Service Rep in a call center environment. High stress job, dreaded coming into work each day. Only plus was decent pay and city benefits. Pros Pay, benefits. Cons Stressful, Micromanaged, Had to track how long you were gone for every break including bathroom breaks. I was hurt on the job and was required to go to their doctors at the times they scheduled which were all during my scheduled work shift. They counted these appointments against my attendance and threatened to terminate my position, so I contacted a lawyer. Yes There are 4 helpful reviews 4 No There are 1 unhelpful reviews 1.

Just keep looking! Worst job ever. Management was concerned with themselves and not their employees. Everyone just seemed to want to make it through the day and get out of there. Yes There are 7 helpful reviews 7 No. The benefits, salary, and co-workers were all fantastic. That aspect was great. They give you iowa months of paid training where you really learn all the aspects. But then they throw you on the service floor with not enough supervisors around to help. Personally, I felt lied to by management a lot of the time. They'd keep telling us things were going to slow down Geico we could catch a break from answering phones ten hours a day, but never did.

I applied to several other jobs while there. I was told they'd had their eye on me from the time of my original interview and application and knew I was going to excel, that I had such a natural talent and gift when it came to these various new positions I was applying for.

But then I wouldn't get any of these jobs and they'd tell me it was because I hadn't come in on my days off to shadow someone. That was never a requirement, was never mentioned before, nothing.

Besides that, I already had to work 4-day shifts of 10 hours a piece in order to get days off in a row otherwise your days off will be split. There was no way I was going to go back on a day off to shadow someone.

They'd also tell me the new positions were all about talent, who had the abilities and skills, etc It was a very frustrating year and half for me. In the customer service department, you're talking to angry customers for hours a day. People who are belittling you, yelling at you, forcing you to stay at work past your shift because - more Pros Occasional giveaways, paid training, good salary. Cons Horrible job, no days off in a row without doing 10 hour shifts, nonstop angry phone calls. Yes There are 10 helpful reviews 10 No. Rate your recent company Share your experience to help others.

GEICO offers fantastic pay and benefits- and for good reason.

The job itself is terrible phone center work. You answer phones, often with angry customers who will then proceed to scream at you. You are supposed to take as many of these calls as you can, and are constantly rated on a variety of metrics. The better you do, the more you make, through promotion as a floor agent.

You are micromanaged, and constantly pushed to do as many calls, as quickly and efficiently as you can, and that takes a toll on people. Many associates are on FML for mental illness such as depression or anxiety. The work is intense, and corporate goes out of their way to advertise all around the office what a 'great' workplace it is. Pros great benefits, great pay. Cons Micromanaging, lack of support in management, terrible duties.

They adjusted my work schedule several times when i desperately needed it. You are allowed to move around departments in order to find your ideal career path, even out of state when available.

Geico employee reviews in coralville, ia

Management was very pleasant to work with. Yes No There are 3 unhelpful reviews 3. The first three months of training were fun!

Classroom setting, bonding with your team. Then, we hit the floor. The phone calls were sooo stressful, people yelling at you, threatening you, complaining about pricing and rates constantly. This was a daily thing, which eventually made the job undesirable.

Customer Service Reps are you expected to be chained to the phones all day and if you think about taking a breather outside of your lunch hour, be ready to be chewed out by management. The job became so stressful, by the end I was on Antidepressants and other medications to ease my stress and panic attacks. I would see a psychiatrist every month.

If you are ok with taking calls a day and being yelled at almost every other call, you may last and be able to move up within the company. That part of the job was great but the stress was just too much to continue. Pros Co-Workers, Pay and office activities. Cons Management, call volumes and company expectations.
